Clickwise privacy policy

Effective date: 2 November 2026. Publisher: Aptagon Technologies (hello@aptagon.com).

Clickwise is a Chrome extension that records clicks on websites you choose and replays them. This policy explains what it stores and what it does not do.

What Clickwise stores, and where

Clickwise stores the following on your device, inside Chrome's extension storage, and nowhere else:

  • Profiles you record: the site they belong to (for example https://app.example.com), and for each step the element's CSS selector, tag, role, visible text or label, and its last known position on the page, the pause you took before it, and, for typing steps, the text you typed into that field so it can be typed again on replay.
  • Settings: theme, default interval and jitter, whether you have seen the first-run tour, and the last profile used on each site.
  • Run logs: for the last 50 runs, the time, step name and outcome of each action (for example "Clicked", "Not found, skipped"). You can export them as CSV or clear them in Settings.
  • Live run state while a run is in progress, in session storage that Chrome clears when the browser closes.

What Clickwise does not do

  • It does not send any data to the publisher or to anyone else. There is no server, no account and no sign-in.
  • It does not use analytics, crash reporting, advertising or any third-party code.
  • It does not read or run on websites you have not enabled. Enabling a site grants the extension permission for that site only; removing the site in Settings revokes it.
  • It never records password fields, or fields marked as payment-card or one-time-code fields. Text typed into other fields is stored only as part of the profile, on your device, and you can see and edit it in the profile editor.
  • It does not run on Chrome's own pages, the Chrome Web Store or local files.

Permissions

Clickwise asks for the smallest set of Chrome permissions that lets it work: access to the current tab when you click its icon, the ability to run its own script on sites you enable, local storage, a 30-second watchdog timer, and the side panel. Host access is requested per site and only when you press "Enable on this site".

Your control

You can delete any profile, clear run history, remove a site, or uninstall the extension at any time. Uninstalling removes all stored data.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published at the same address with a new effective date.
